Drew loves to teach and has designed a master class that offers performers a nurturing an intimate environment in which to test their comfort zones and learn both from Drew and one another.

THE LESSON PLAN:

-How to select the right audition materials

-Techniques for interpreting and performing a song

-How to catch nervous performance habits

-Growing your repertoire of performance styles

-The arts of pop/rock musical theatre

-How to let your walls down and find new comfort zones

-How to walk in the door and run the audition room

-How to build a career

THE CLASS FORMAT:

Each student will have a solid block of time to perform solo and receive direct feedback from Drew, followed by Q&A.

THE OPTION TO AUDIT:

Students who do not wish to or unable to perform may audit the class in order to observe the performances, and absorb the feedback and lessons that are imparted in the room.

Drew Gasparini is an award winning musical theatre composer/lyricist and singer/songwriter.  Some of his musical works include Crazy Just Like Me (winner: NYMF Best of Fest 2011), Turn Of The Screw (book by Michael Kimmel), and Make Me Bad (book by Alex Brightman). 

Currently Drew is working on musical adaptations of the movies of Night Shift for Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, It’s Kind Of A Funny Story for Universal Theatrical Group (in development with Second Stage), The Karate Kid (for Gorgeous Entertainment), and the children’s novel The Whipping Boy (book by Alex Brightman).  Drew is collaborating on a bio musical about the life and times of heroic suffragist, Victoria Woodhull with co-writer Carson Krietzer.  Drew is also in the midst of developing his latest piece of theatre: an autobiographical song cycle titled: We Aren’t Kids Anymore.

Recently Drew co-wrote the music and lyrics for the highly publicized Super Bowl advertising stunt, Skittles Commercial: The Musical (which went on to win several advertising awards and was voted #1 best Super Bowl ad of 2019 by Forbes).  He also wrote songs for the latest Hotels.com ad campaign produced by VOX.

As a singer/songwriter Drew is signed with Concord Music Publishing.  He was a contributing songwriter for NBC’s Smash season 2, and his songs have been heard on T.V. shows such as NBC’s The Biggest Loser, CMT’s Gainesville, Oxygen’s The Next Big Thing, and more. 

Drew’s album I Could Use A Drink: The Songs Of Drew Gasparini spent several weeks on the iTunes top 100 charts. He has performed his brand of theatre concerts all over the world from his regular shows at 54 Below, to performances at Lincoln Center in NYC, The Kennedy Center in D.C, the St. James in London, and in November 2018 Drew performed a night of his music with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra at the Ferguson Center for the Arts.

Outside of his own writing and performing, Drew is also one third of the folk/pop trio Saint Adeline alongside his two sisters.
