CURIOUS ABOUT THE RTBK SUMMER WORKSHOP?

The ages for our program are typically 8-14, or students entering the 3rd-9th grade in the fall.

The RTBK Summer Workshops are two-week musical theater workshops that include both scenes and songs from various shows, including both classic and contemporary musicals. Throughout the workshops we focus on understanding character, working as an ensemble, blending of voices, comedic timing, and choreography. Each two-week workshop culminates in a performance for family and friends. Putting it all together in two weeks is hard work, but the process is always rewarding and fun!

A typical day looks like this:
Morning: full cast and small group sessions from 11:00am-12:30pm
Break for lunch from 12:30-1:30pm

Afternoon: small group sessions from 1:30-3:00pm
Snack break 3:00-3:15pm
Full cast 3:15-4:00pm

Sessions consist of either working on a small group scene, a small group song, or the full cast numbers. Roles are given out by a willingness to try, be bold, and take risks, but even the shyest of students are given opportunities for lines and small solos in musical numbers.
