NEW PROGRAM: SUMMER WORKSHOP INTERNS
Junior Intern / Theater Artist-in-Training Program
A Leadership & Theater Arts Development Experience
Ages 14–17
PROGRAM SESSIONS
– Two-week sessions: $300
– One-week sessions: $150
For teens who are ready to take the next step beyond participation, the Ridgefield Theater Barn offers a hands-on training program designed to develop confident, capable young leaders—both onstage and behind the scenes.
This is not simply a volunteer opportunity—it’s a guided learning experience. Participants work alongside our teaching artists and staff, receiving mentorship and real-world training in how a production comes together, while also learning how to support and lead younger students.
Over the course of each session, students will:
– Build leadership, communication, and collaboration skills in a supportive, real-world environment
– Learn how to mentor and guide younger performers with confidence and care
– Gain hands-on experience in directing, choreography, stage management, and technical theater
– Contribute meaningfully to the rehearsal and production process
– Explore areas of theater that match their individual interests
Participants take on increased responsibility as part of the team, assisting with daily operations such as check-in, activities, and rehearsal support, while also engaging in deeper learning—taking notes, helping teach material, participating in production meetings, and supporting backstage elements like costumes, sets, lighting, and sound.
Most importantly, they help foster the warm, inclusive environment that defines the Theater Barn experience and bring our core belief to life: Theater IS Community.
Tuition reflects the structured training, mentorship, and individualized attention each participant receives, as well as the opportunity to gain meaningful, resume-building experience in a working theater environment.
